Compensation: $23 - $29 per hour

Psynergy Programs is looking for a full-time Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist for its Sacramento facility.  This is a Tues – Sat, 9:00am – 5:30pm position, with medical and dental benefits, a 401k plan, and generous paid time off.  The hourly rate for this position is $23 - $29 per hour, depending on experience.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  All new hires must be able to pass a criminal background check and complete first aid and CPR training.  For more specific information on this position, please read below.

Minimum Qualifications:  Associate’s Degree plus 2 years’ experience (In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree) plus 4 years’ experience in a Mental Health setting, field of Physical Restoration, Social Adjustment, or Vocational Adjustment.

Job Summary:

With direction and following established procedures, provides milieu/or direct client service, in all areas of daily living, rehabilitation and treatment. In some settings, responsibilities may include lead supervision over a number of Residential Counselors. Completes clinical records and other documentation as required.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Provides milieu and/or mental health rehabilitation support. Provides assistance and supports to clients in all areas of daily living, rehabilitation and treatment.
  • Assists with assessment and intervention to all client crises, including necessary follow-up, using appropriate consultation.
  • Completes clinical records and other required documentation in accordance with agency, payer and regulatory requirements, utilizing paper or computer technology as required.
  • Monitors residents’ behavioral changes, reinforces positive appropriate behavior, offers counseling and support to residents in need, provides documentation accordingly and reports observations to the supervisor; monitors for signs and symptoms of mental illness.
  • Helps patient and family through individual or group conferences to understand, accept and follow medical recommendations. Refers patient and/or patient’s family to appropriate community resources.
  • Model Program Agreements with clients and other residential counselors and support training goals and needs of staff.
  • Utilizes community resources to assist patient to resume life in the community or to learn to live within the limits of their disability.
